HOMES Rebates

Up to $16,000

Whole-home performance rebates based on your home's modeled energy savings.

  • Rebate amount is based on % energy savings, verified through home energy modeling
  • Covers insulation, air sealing, and heating & cooling system upgrades
  • Income-qualified households can receive up to 100% of project cost

HEAR Rebates

Up to $14,000

Rebates for switching specific systems to high-efficiency electric equipment.

Many homes qualify for both. HOMES and HEAR can be combined on different upgrades in the same project, for a combined potential upgrades up to $30,000 — your actual rebate depends on your income tier (AMI) and which upgrades your home needs. We'll help you figure out which measures go where.
Eligibility

How much you get depends on income

<80%

Households under 80% of area median income (AMI) can receive up to 100% of project cost, up to the program cap.

80–150%

Households between 80–150% AMI can receive up to 50% of project cost, up to the program cap.

>150%

Households above 150% AMI are not eligible for these specific rebates.

Have ready: a recent W-2, 1099, or tax filing to verify household income — or enrollment paperwork from a qualifying assistance program.

This form is intended to collect the information needed to begin evaluating your home's eligibility and to prepare your project under North Carolina's Energy Savers Program (HOMES or HEAR). The information you provide will help our team verify your program status, review your home's existing conditions, understand your project goals, and schedule a site visit.

Depending on the program you have been pre-qualified for, you may be asked to provide additional documentation, such as your Energy Audit Report (HOMES Program), or answer questions regarding your home improvement priorities and budget (HEAR Program).
